In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
- "We", "Us", "Our", "Ikatan Mesra" — refers to the legal practice operating under the name Ikatan Mesra, located at Unit 7-3, Plaza Damansara, Jalan Medan Setia 1, 50490 Kuala Lumpur.
- "Services" — refers to the family law services offered by Ikatan Mesra, including family consultation and guidance, agreements and arrangements, and representation in family matters.
- "User" / "You" / "Client" — refers to any person who accesses our website or engages our Services.
- "Website" — refers to the website operated by Ikatan Mesra at https://ikatanmedas.pro.
- "Agreement" — means these Terms and Conditions, together with any engagement letter or retainer agreement entered into between us and a Client.
- "Content" — means all text, images, graphics, and other materials published on the Website.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our Website or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Website or engage our Services.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Malaysian law to engage our Services.
Where Services are engaged on behalf of another person (for example, an elderly parent), the person making the engagement confirms they have the authority to do so.
3. Description of Services
Ikatan Mesra provides civil family law services in Malaysia, including:
- Family Consultation & Guidance (from RM 236) — a private session to discuss your circumstances and explore the options available to you
- Agreements & Arrangements (from RM 285) — preparation and explanation of formal family arrangements, including parenting plans and separation agreements
- Representation in Family Matters (from RM 328) — formal legal representation in proceedings before the Malaysian courts
Services are available to clients located in Malaysia. Our practice focuses on civil family law. We do not provide services in relation to syariah family law matters, which fall under a separate jurisdiction.
4. Client Responsibilities
When engaging our Services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information about your circumstances
- Promptly supply any documents or information we reasonably request in connection with your matter
- Notify us promptly of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your matter
- Treat our staff with courtesy and respect at all times
- Use the Website only for lawful purposes and not to misrepresent your identity or authority
5. Payment Terms
All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Fees will be agreed with you in writing before any work commences.
Payment is due as set out in the engagement letter for your matter. For consultation services, payment is typically required at the time of the session. For other Services, a payment schedule will be agreed in advance.
We accept payment by bank transfer and other methods as agreed. Receipts are provided upon request. We reserve the right to pause work on your matter in the event of outstanding payment, following reasonable notice to you.
6. Intellectual Property
All Content on the Website — including text, design, layout, and graphics — is owned by or licensed to Ikatan Mesra and is protected by Malaysian copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or republish any Content without our express written consent.
Legal documents, advice memoranda, and other work product prepared for you in the course of an engagement remain the intellectual property of Ikatan Mesra until fees are paid in full. Once fully paid, such materials become your property for the purposes for which they were prepared.
7. Disclaimers
The information on this Website is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Reading content on this Website does not create a lawyer-client relationship. For advice specific to your situation, please contact us directly.

We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including loss of income or relationship harm, arising from the use of our Website or the provision of our Services, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination of Engagement
You may end your engagement with us at any time by written notice. We will render a final invoice for work completed to the date of termination.
We reserve the right to cease acting for you in circumstances permitted by our professional obligations, including where there is a conflict of interest, a breakdown in trust, non-payment of agreed fees, or where continuing to act would be contrary to our professional duties. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.
10. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising from your use of our Website or our Services are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so that we may attempt to resolve the matter informally. If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Clients also have the right to raise complaints with the Malaysian Bar Council's Disciplinary Board in relation to professional conduct matters.
11. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ikatan Mesra in respect of your use of the Website and our Services.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- Waiver: Failure by us to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision in the future.
